Don't bother trying to find "St James's Lettings" at http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ - it doesn't exist. Guess what? Company called "Marcus Holdings Limited" (06856276) still exists so all that is a good company if you had problems with Martin Marcus more than 1 year ago. If you had problems with Martin Marcus recently then he might trade as "City Lets (Finchley) Limited" (07447216) - check http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ or download certificate of incorporation for free at https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B3gY1hY8GkvyYzllZGYyZGEtZmFkMC00NDllLThlZjktMDIyNzAyZWYyYjlj&hl=en_GB

He stole almost £10k from me with the same old rubbish of taking 6 months rent in advance and deposit and then never giving me a penny yet the tenant is living at my flat while I continue to pay for it, disgusting. Even worse are the pathetic emails he sent post the theft promising to pay me my money, oh no we had a digit wrong on your account rubbish!! He is a complete conman and did a runner from station road and St james's lettings just under 2 weeks ago. If you find out he reappears somewhere please let me know.

I've had £300 taken from this man as a holding deposit. I gave him that in good faith, then something didn't sit right so I did a bit of online research and found all of these blogs and obviously was worried. I went to "lets rent finchley" and explained I wouldn't be going forward with the property and he assured me I would be reimbursed - I then went back today and he had shut up shop. Lets rent finchley doesn't exist anymore. I am out £300 but it could have been so much worse. Apparently the whole of NW London have been going to where Lets Rent Finchley used to be in utter confusion that he's now gone - I think he's taken a lot of peoples money and run off.
