Martin Marcus is trading as St James's Lettings now!

It looks like Martin Marcus is trading as another company now. It is his 4th "real estate agency" aka "The biggest SCAM in London" for 2 years, since he put me in trouble. There was "City Living in Hackney", then "City Lets" in Finchley, then "Lets Rent" in Finchley and "St James's Lettings" in Finchley at 17 Station Road, London N3 2SB now.

It looks like all his companies in Finchley are at the same address.

Don't bother trying to find "St James's Lettings" at http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ - it doesn't exist. Guess what? Company called "Marcus Holdings Limited" (06856276) still exists so all that is a good company if you had problems with Martin Marcus more than 1 year ago. Martin Marcus has closed his "City Lets" shop on 707 High Road in Finchley and has opened a new one. This is his 3rd shop in this year after closing City Living in Hackney and City Lets in Finchley. More than 50 people contacted me during that time. All of them have been scammed by Martin Marcus and have problems with getting their money back.

How many people have been scammed by Martin Marcus?

Every week I receive few e-mails from people who have been scammed by Martin Marcus. In the past he focused on scamming tenants, now he is focusing on landlords where the volume of his money fraud is much bigger, not only deposit and first month rent.

Martin Marcus Arrested!

I reported money fraud at Metropolitan Police Station in Shoreditch in the beginning of March this year. Nothing has happened during few months but few days ago I received a phone call from the Police that Martin Marcus has been arrested on 25th of August, 2009 in the morning.

To everyone who reads this blog:
1. Please contact the Police to report your case. They told me that everyone should report money fraud and it has impact on how important it is to stop him doing that.
2. Please claim your case in Small Claims Court at http://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk - you may not receive any money because he closes his businesses, opens new and goes bankrupt but maybe you will be the lucky one.
3. Please contact Trading Standards in Finchley or Borough you live in and report your case. People at Trading Standards are very effective with what they are doing and so far the only ones who helped people get their money back already.
4. Please contact me with e-mail (citylivinghackney@googlemail.com) if you need any help and you are interested not only in receiving money but stopping Marcus from continuing his frauds.
5. Please contact Mr. Marcus regularly to ask and get your money back. The more often we do it, the more time he needs to spend on answering and dealing with it.

Again, I would like to thank to all people who contact me and cooperate.

Mr. Marcus, I know you read this blog - this is not the end. You have been arrested and you probably lied to the Police again. I will make sure that Police will stop your Economic Crime one day. I will continue my journalism until it happens and you pay money back!

I absolutly agree!!City LIving is just a one big lie!!!Since January they did not give me the deposit back as well. They have also lied to me about the property and the amount of the rent. Be aware of City LIving!!!!!!!!!!

We rented for a year with them and advise Martin in December 2008 that we are moving out & according to the contract should be getting back our One Month's Deposit Fee of GBP 1000.00 back it is now April 2009 Yes APRIL 2009 & we still have NOT gotten our money from him. We called Martin at least 20 times and each time he had a different Story to tell, I have NO idea why Martin did NOT become a Story Teller instead of being an Estate Agent. I really hope u get whats coming to you Martin being an Bad Human Being is just unacceptable in the world & stealing from other people is just disgusting NOT ONCE DID WE MISS OUR RENT PAYMENT. YOU THIEF.
